Key Services
Educational Psychology
Peter is a qualified teacher and a very experienced chartered educational psychologist. In the early part of his career he was employed in a number of LEA’s before moving into independent practice in 1984. He has expertise in Dyslexia, Dyscalculia, Dyspraxia, ADHD, Aspergers, Autism and Emotional/Behavioural Difficulties. He was an expert witness in the precedent-setting Phelps v. London Borough of Hillingdon education negligence case in the Royal Courts of Justice, London in July 1997 and was described by Mr Justice Garland as being “particularly well qualified, careful and fair”. He maintains a very successful private practice in Bristol, London and throughout the UK in assessing children, adolescents and adults.

Counselling and Psychotherapy
Peter is experienced in a wide range of therapeutic approaches Kleinian psychoanalysis, Bionian Group Dynamics, Transactional Analysis, Gestalt Therapy, various meditation practices including Transcendental Meditation, Buddhist practices and NLP. Over the years he has worked with leading exponents in their fields. He is a chartered Counselling Psychologist of the BPS and a United Kingdom Council for Psychotherapy registered psychotherapist. He is a former committee member of the Psychology and Psychotherapy Association.
Neuropsychology and Forensic Psychology
Peter attended the first British Psychological Society post-qualification course in the UK in Clinical Neuropsychology. He is a Full Practitioner Member of the BPS Division of Neuropsychology. A part of his clinical practice is concerned with assessing children and adults with actual or suspected traumatic brain injury arising from birth damage, toxicity or as a result of e.g. a road traffic accident. He is instructed by both Claimants and Defendants and appears in court as an expert witness in such cases.

Lecturing and Consultancy
Peter has lectured in Bristol, Cardiff and Leicester universities. He is a former tutor at the Child Guidance Training Centre, London responsible for the postgraduate training of educational psychologists on a BPS-and-DCSF-accredited course. He has been consultant to a number of independent, mainstream and special schools. He has been a group facilitator for numerous professional training courses for university social work departments, NSPCC and the probation service.
